Thermal Printing
This is the process we use for our standard printing on all jobs with quantities
less than 1000 unless otherwise requested. It is a heat transfer process
used in printing directly to the surface of the disc. Mono-color printing
is standard on our copying jobs and is available in either black, dark blue
or red. Thermal color printing is now available, but is only recommended
for art that contains no photographs or intense color presentations. Thermal
printing is non-fading and wont rub off.
Advantages: Printed directly on media, Fast turn around 1000
imprints <24 hours, No film needed
Disadvantages: Cannot use process color, Cannot use large
area reverses
-
Silk Screen Printing
This process is available on duplication jobs with a minimum quantity of
1000. One color or multiple colors are available with this method. This
process works well with full color presentations, including photographs
and discs that need color from edge to edge. It is available on lower quantities
but will increase the cost and the turn time. If you need full color, low
quantity printing, your best option is Color Laser Label Printing.
Advantages: Printed directly on media, Full color
Disadvantages: Film required, minimum quantities, 10% over/under
runs
-
Color Laser Label Printing
We use this process for promotional and product testing CD packaging. Using
laser labels gives you the highest quality and color available for short
runs.
Advantages: Full Color, Fast turn around 1000 <24 hours,
No film needed
Disadvantages: Not printed directly onto media.
What format should the art be submitted in?
For CD printing jobs please lay out your art to fit within these simple sizes
CD
print area. We prefer you use one of the following software packages, Adobe
Illustrator, Photoshop, PageMaker, Quark, Corel Draw are a few of the accepted
formats. Either PC or Mac is also acceptable. Alternately, given a logo and
text we can design a simple but suitable label for $25.
